About John

John Breen is a nationally respected sports physiologist and multi-sport coach with a long-standing track record of developing elite athletes in rowing, paddling, powerlifting, and fitness competitions.

 

At Main Line High Performance, John offers a highly individualized, science-based training approach rooted in decades of competitive experience and physiological expertise—helping athletes of all levels unlock their full potential. His unique blend of science, experience, and innovation also positions him to contribute meaningfully to high-tech fitness environments where biomechanics, training science, and elite performance intersect.

Coach

His coaching career includes guiding athletes to Olympic Trials, World Championships, and international podiums. He works with athletes across the U.S. and internationally, including in England and Scotland, and remains actively engaged in competition himself—ranking nationally in rowing, paddling, CrossFit, and powerlifting.

Athlete

A former member of both the U.S. National Rowing Team and the U.S. National Dragon Boat Team, John has competed and medaled at the Rowing World Cup, the Dragon Boat World Championships, and holds a Guinness World Record in team paddling. His background as an elite athlete includes being a collegiate All-American powerlifter at Temple University and a Pro-Am track cyclist at the Lehigh County Velodrome. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as the high-performance coach for the University of Pennsylvania's women’s rowing and sailing teams.

Entrepreneur

As an innovator in the fitness world, John co-developed the Training Camp Slide, a lateral movement tool that was distributed internationally. He later designed the Six Week Fat-to-Muscle Program, a proprietary body recomposition system focused on fat loss and lean muscle development.
